Bisacodyl Tablet
Indication: Constipation, bowel evacuation before radiological procedures, endoscopy, surgery and labour.
Contraindication: Intestinal obstruction.
Side effects: May cause gastrointestinal disturbance and abdominal cramp.
Caution: Prolonged use should be avoided as they can eventually precipitate the onset of an atonic non functioning colon and hypokalaemia.
Doses:
Adult: 1·2 tabs. after meal usullly at night.
Child: Under 10 yrs. 1 tab. at night; over 10 yrs. same as adult.
Don't take with milk and antacids.
